I've recently moved a month ago(again), and going through my paperwork realised I have lived in six different towns in the last three years. All but one was a decision of mine for work or educational purposes. The one I didn't choose for myself - my latest move - I had no feelings for or against it.
I've got changing addresses down to a tee, can pack in an instant, all good skills! The thing that is the hardest are the social networks that, as you can imagine, are fragmented to say the least!
I lived in my last place for 15 months and by the end had realised that everyone I knew was connected to work. They were a great bunch of people; but I began to feel I should be brave and go and find new people.
So this weekend, decided to look for courses and clubs around my area (moved to a village in the Lake District) to expand my horizons: Badminton and Yoga are enrolling this week. Keep fit in body and mind.
It's just the first step, hopefully I'll be able to push myself and initiate conversation and not be ultrasafe and regret it...
The badminton could be difficult as there is no time to turn up for, so I'm guessing half seven in the evening is about right, should catch the beginning, middle or end, I hope!
