noun
plural rara avises\RAIR-uh-AY-vuh-suhx\ or rarae aves \RAIR-ee-AY-veez\:
A rare or unique person or thing.
Rara avis is Latin for "rare bird."
I'm very fortunate to know several rarae aves. (I particularly like this new word I've found!) What I admire most is understated charm, genorisity and care, coupled with hidden depths that come and surprise you from ti me to time.
This weekend caught up with a couple of mine. Gig Buddy I've known for seven years, very good mate. Didn't actually meet at a gig but soon realised our musical preferences were closely allied. Our job and life ended up in quite close parallel which also helps! Gig Buddy has a great way of getting straight to the point of something that you;re striggling with, and makes things a lot clearer.
Sand I've mentioned earlier on in my blogging. We caught up online and, well, feelings are still there. The big news from earlier this year was that they were reciprocated. Which is big news for me as it is the first time that I've liked someone and they've knowingly liked me back. Circumstances, however, mean that nothing more is meant to be. Although there still is something there I think. To quote Jam and Lewis circa SOS Band "I'd rather have part of you than all of nothing"
